Job Title: Seasonal Sales & Apparel Design Associate 

Location: The Dog Shop Kentucky – Louisville, KY 

Position Type: Seasonal, Part-Time (May–August) 

Hours: 10–15 hours per week – Weekend availability required

About The Dog Shop Kentucky

 The Dog Shop Kentucky is a locally owned pet boutique and apparel company that celebrates the bond between people and pets. In addition to our curated retail shop, we design and produce our own in-house apparel collection, featuring fun, Kentucky-inspired and pet-themed designs.

Position Overview

We’re looking for an energetic, creative, and dependable Summer Sales & Apparel Design Associate to join our team for the summer season. This role is a hybrid position that combines traditional retail responsibilities with hands-on support for our in-house apparel printing and design process. If you love people, pets, and working with creative products, we’d love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

•     Provide exceptional customer service to every shopper and their pet.

•     Assist customers with product selection, sizing, and in-store promotions.

•     Operate the cash register, handle transactions accurately, and maintain a clean, welcoming retail environment.

•     Support day-to-day merchandising, restocking, and visual display updates.

•     Assist with the design, pressing, and printing of our in-house apparel line (training provided).

•     Help with product setup for local events and occasional pop-ups.

•     Follow safety and quality standards in printing and heat-press operations.

•     Contribute creative input on new apparel designs and product concepts when needed.

Qualifications

•     Prior retail or customer service experience preferred but not required.

•     Basic comfort with computers and design tools (experience with Canva and Shopify a plus).

•     Detail-oriented and able to handle merchandise and print materials carefully.

•     Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with both sales and production duties.

•     Must be available to work weekends and occasional event days.

•     Friendly, reliable, and enjoys working in a pet-friendly store environment.
